To the Mods - a request/suggestion. All MMA betters, please read.

I would like to request/suggest a new forum/sub-forum with the topic of betting, betting odds, good/bad bets, and the like. I am very interested in betting on MMA and would like to be able to have serious discussions with other people interested in betting but have found it hard to read through the betting threads that pop-up from time to time in the heavy wieghts forum. Too many "Bet the house on _____!!" "He's gonna get KILLED!!" types of responses that would never come from a serious better and anyone who is truly interested in betting just finds these comments annoying and distracting from the conversation. And there tends to be a looooooot of them.

All forums not entitled "The heavywieghts" and sub-forums get far less traffic than this one (also the reason why I posted this thread here) and therefor tend to have less drifters and more people that are truly interested in the subject. With this in mind I think a new forum/subforum would greatly enhance our (those interested in betting) ability to have real discussion and give us a common place to meet (even finding betting threads can be hard at times).

Thanks for your consideration and anyone who agrees with me feel free to sign this like a petition. I'm sure there are others out there that feel the same.

Good idea.
There are some great quality posters out there, lost in the flood of nonsense predictions of the average sherdoggger, including people that actually work in the gambling industry ( oddessa, nickcr, the guy from The Venitien ) that would post more if they had a dedicated sub-forum.

Yeah. I'm sure a new sub-forum would stop the trolls from coming into your "serious" betting sub-forum and trolling. You're just plain asking them to do it with this thread man.

While that forum would surely be trolled, it could also have good information.

Information not only on betting in general but about good online places to bet on MMA. Which could also help generate AD revenue for Sherdog.

First of all, if you mean me with your "learn to punctuate" comment, then you should definitly calm down a bit. I can count one, maybe two commas I missed in my quickly written, non-edited post and their absence in no way affects the understandability of what I said.

Secondly, no, a sub-forum would in no way completely wipe out all trolls or idiots but if would greatly reduce them. Just by looking at the main page, anyone can see that the VAST majority of all posting takes place in the heavywieghts forum and to attempt a troll in a sub forum, where there is very little traffic, is not as appealing as the chances for success are greatly reduced. Furthermore, to discredit an idea simple because the likelihood of success is not 100% (in this case the removal of ALL trolls according to you) is completely idiotic. We might as well just give up all scientific and academic research according to your philisophy since the succes rate would not be guaranteed.

And no, I'm not asking them to troll in this thread. If that was a request for a troll, then every thread ever posted is a request for a troll. I simply posted an idea that others seem to agree with. The only one doing any insulting here is you.

Which websites do you find to be the best for internet betting? I've never done internet betting before but would like to start.

And yes, if we could get some of the posters you mentioned to come in and give opinions, that would be great!
