Belt colors?

I'm oly suggesting this because I'm tired of people complaining about whitebelts starting threads. I already posted this as a reply in a thread but it got moved to wasteland.

Your belt shouldn't represent your post count, it should represent your knowledge in MMA. I suggest a trivia quiz for all current and new members. Your score on the test should determine what color belt you receive. Make new tests each month so you can improve your score, and improve your belt. If you receive a white belt based on the quiz then you can't start threads.

then you would take away everyone's post count that they have worked hard to achieve (for the most part). i dont think it would fly and a lot of people would get pissed. could you imagine having 15,000 posts but your mainly a war roomer, and then get bumped down to yellow cause you dont know that much about mma? bad idea, im gonna have to veto.

It's a good idea, but it will never happen. Most of the people who are higher belt colors on here do know their shit. They wouldn't be posting everyday if they didn't. But I do agree, there are some white belts who know a lot more than they get credit for.

well. for starters, people only rag and bash on whitebelts for stupid threads.

For example, by looking at your threads started MXC3210, I can determine that:

1. You have started 2 threads, WIDELY and THOROUGHLY discussed:

i.e. "Genki sudo and Combat Ki" and "Swick vs Leben rematch"

oh and my favourite, posting media clips for discussion in the The Heavyweights: PRIDE and UFC forum, entitled "Ohh this is too funny!!" when it should of gone into the Pictures and Multimedia forum.

A major agro with the veterans is that white belts post topics which are widely discussed already, are old news, or are just plain stupid. Like 3 of your 6 threads. Way to get a good start there champ.

Oh, and by the way. The "looking for a song" thread of yours where you ask whats the title of the song in the sherdog CroCop HL.

....the songs used in the HL were listed in the credits at the end of the video.

I'm sorry, are you one of the more intelligent MMA fans?

Fozzy, your right on many points. I've never been on forums of discussion before. It's take some time getting use to. I went back and rewatched the video and found the song. The other threads were probably dumb I admit, but I had a question so I asked. As for my knowledge in MMA, yeah I would say I fairly knowledgable. I don't post much, mostly because I try to learn from what everyone else posts. I had an idea and I presented it, simple as that. If you don't like it, thats cool just say "I don't like that idea."

No. I'm not meaning anything personal, I'm just saying from this perspective, as a whitebelt, people will flame you guys, and as someone who's enforcing the whitebelt stereotype by posting threads already done before, and so on, that you're not helping the cause.

and they wouldn't just Google it or ask the questions on another forum?

nice idea, but wont work.

Listen wait a few months until you are not a white belt, and you wont be thinking this, remember we all went through what you are currently going through, with the white belt stigma.
