whats a banana bag?

i was looking for thai bags online and i say one advertised as a 'banana bag' huh?

Also- what brand thai bags do you guys use?

As far as I know, a 'banana bag' is just another name for a thai heavy bag - It's a heavy bag that is 6 feet long, so that you can work low kicks/knees on it.

I suppose the 'banana' reference is because the bag w/ it's length would naturally swing/bend more than your average bag, although I don't know if this is the true reason behind the name.

I currently own a CSI Powerhide thai bag and a Top Contender double-end bag. Neither are set-up yet, unfortunately. I've spent about 5 hours in the past 2 days cutting up clothing to fill the heavy bag with... god damn does it start to irritate your thumb after a while.

Banana bag = 6 foot thin bag with flexible stuffing. The name comes from the density and flexibility of banana trees Thai fighters use for practicen which said bags replicate.
