Trouble Finding A Good Jiu Jitsu & Boxing Instructionals

hi i am new to this forum i thought this would be a good place to post about my problem finding instructional dvds i am looking for a good jiu jitsu instructional set and a good boxing instructional i already have a couple No Rules Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with gene simco and No Rules Boxing with john carlo also just got all the mario sperry vale tudo series as you can see i am very interested in a street fighting type instructional not any sort of sport instructionals here is the problem though i heard gene simco is a fraud after i already purchased these although i thought they had good instructions and dvds were laid out very well i still dont want to waste my time with them if he does not know anything like they say cause he has never even fought before and has fraudulant credentials that is kind of why i got the mario sperry dvds because he is reputable but i heard his are not very street oriented like what i am looking for they are more mma here are some i am considering getting but do not know if they are made by fraudulant people either or if they are even any good at all instruction wise i would appreciate any feedback you guys could give me here they are (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu "Ultimate Lessons" COMPLETE 11 DVD BOXED SET, Starring Brazilian Master Gustavo Froes) on amazon.com these have good reveiws but those guys gave simco good reveiws too though also when i type this guys name in on the net nothing pops up but his dvd set no records of this guy that i can find looking at these because it has a complete program that also includes street fighting ("Ultimate Boxing Lessons" COMPLETE 8 DVD BOXED SET, Starring Boxing Coach Christopher Getz) also has good reveiws on amazon but cant find anything on this guy either looking at these because they also have a complete program and have a street fighting dvd with them (Dirty Street Fighting Self-Defense System - Complete 5-DVD Boxed Set, Starring Adam "Pit Bull" Hutchins) these also have good reveiws on amazon but guess what i actualy found somthing on this guy on sherdog he has a 0-1-0 mma record it says on amazon he is a no holds barred champion hummmm dont know about that does not seem very credible for instructionals and the last one is (Vale Tudo 14 DVD Set by Marco Ruas) at budovideos.com no reveiws i could find on this set not sure if the training would be street oriented this is just a confusing decision it seems like going with simco would be easier and less complicated again please any help would be apreciated will check back later thanks for the help in advance

I really like this DVD http://ssfgear.com/shopsite_sc/product74.html Renato has a very aggressive game and attacks a lot.

Whoa...that's like....a lot to read...so I'm not going to bother. I'll just offer my own suggestions based on shit I've seen:

Jiu Jitsu:
- Renzo or Cesar Gracie tapes (good prices, lots of good fundamentals and explanation)
- (a bit more advanced a lot of cool ideas) the Tony Cecchine catch wrestling tapes
- Anything by Straight Blast Gym
- for very very basic stuff the Gracie Jiu Jitsu tapes by Rorion

Boxing/MT:
- Rodney King's Street Boxing from SBG
- Crazy Monkey Championship Series or Quantum CMD...also by Rodney King
- Razor Rob's Muay Thai (cheap also)
- Anything by Straight Blast Gym

Or a catchall:
- Bas Rutten's Big DVD's of Combat
- Straight Blast Gym's Functional JKD II

if it's street fighting you're looking for.. look into bas rutten's stuff.. and the stuff by rodney king is also excellent.

Well if you are after street orientated stuff, the Geoff Thompson (uk) DVD'S are good, the Rodney King ones are good too and I like the Paul Vunak tape on Headbutts ,knees and elbows. All based on stand up.Oh ,and Bas' stuff is good too.

Regards street stuff on the floor, again ,Bas' stuff is good,as is Geoff Thompsons stuff(although he has a lot of DVDS to buy....he covers an awful lot of stuff-judo,wrestling etc) and I like the Vunak tape on biting as a tool to get the guy off you,to let you regain your feet and then use hands/knees again.

And if you wanna take a chance on a coupla books I would suggest Geoff Thompsons "Dead or Alive" for the pyschology of steet defence/avoidance and "the fence" by the same author.I would also suggest a book by a guy called Phil Giles, available through Paladin Press called "Street Tough".Heres his site here http://www.streettough-jiujitsu.co.uk/Main.htm

I even make an appearance in the book(dont get any royalties though!!!).That covers street defence from a standing, clinch and floor position(not that ever want to go there if you can fuck the guy up enough when standing)

If you are practising BJJ or similar it can be adapted easily enough with the insert of punches and 'dirty tricks on the ground(or in standing clinch) such as biting, eye gouging, fish hooking, chiining, headbutts, pinching and similar.....
