Christ, between the bombings and the massive holes in the ground, it's a rough time to be a bus driver in Brazil.

Great thread goin on here. Have fun and be safe down there. I know what you mean about the bombings and shit. I went to spain for 3 months, i spoke no spanish and was there for about 2 weeks when the Presidential Elections started. I was living in Alcala De Henares(outside Madrid) going to a language school when the owner(complete ripoff fuckface btw)comes in and starts talking in Spanish, everyone gets all excited(in a bad way) and start acting really fuckin weird. Of course, i speak no spansih so im like WTF is goin on. Well the train leaving my city going to Madrid had been blown up by Moroccan extremists, killed like 200 ppl i believe.
Crazy part is, the van with the detonators and audio tape of the terrorists was found rigth by the train station, less than 2 blocks from my apartment/school. I might have walked outside that morning to get coffee and the coffee shop and they could have drove right by me. Was pretty crazy.

alright well today was a pretty dissapointing day..the party has been postponed to wednesday which sux, b/c now i have 2 days to do nothing, ill prob just walk around my district, and learn where more things are
anyway, on the upside, food shopping in brasil is the best, today i bought food for abpout a week, and it only cost me about 25 us...
they have big pizzas at this store, that are made by the grocery store, fresh, and there only about 2.50 us...drinking here can get expensive just like anywhere else, haircuts are really cheap, it was only 5 reais, which is only about 2.50 us...and i gave the guy a 5 reais tip, and he looked so happy,
all in all so far its been a good trip..other then not trainign yet...im glad i got all the vacations out of the way early so now i can focus...
but carnaval is in a few weeks, so that will be another week of partying...not by choice, if i had it my way id be training, but the whole country literally, stops for carnaval, so if im forced to party i dont have a problem with that..lol
thats about it for now..i live in a nice place, safe clean, kind of on the expensive side, but its all i could find on such short notice..
for any of you guys coming here who will need an apt someday, its alot more complicated then it is at home...you have to have a sponsor here in brasil who will cosing with you...or have like 6 months rent in the bank, already, and sign a 1 year lease...so if you come here look for what are called flats.
its basically a hotel, where u do nothing..u dont clean,...u dont pay for gas, electric, or pretty much anything...i have cable tv, a big kitchen, a bedroom, nice bathroom...and the biggest balcony in the whole place, but its around 750 a month to stay here...and you get frfee breakfast every morning...the only expenses u really will have are food, and washing your clothes

u know something guys..now that im here i can say that the world is not as big as i thought it was...im in a place that until a few weeks ago i had only dreamed about...and now im here, and its home..ill be honest and tell you that the hardest part is getting up and going...once your here, its not bad...u really do meet amazing people..and while i do miss home alot, i realize that if i was home id be doing the same things i do everyday, with the same people...enson has a great quote about this...maybe if brent reads this thread he can find it for you guys...its on my comp at home
but it goes something like this...when i moved to japan i felt like i was being someone..making a life...and while i missed home alot, when i went back to visit, i would love to eat at my fav places, see my friends, but after a week, it was the same thing...same girls, everything...
i know i did a really bad job quoting enson here, lol..but you get the p;oint...alot of people dream...but its not so hard to take a step and start the process of achieving those dreams...im not here saying im gonna be a pro fighter in 6 months...or that ill ever be one..but im happy with myself knowing that even if i dont make it, i tried...and if any of you have this as your dream, and have the funding to do so..dont wait anymore...noone is getting any younger
but learn some port before you come here...it will make alot of things much easier
