the unfortunate part of it, is that you cant rent an apt..your only options are flats...which i am living in right now..and are at a minimum about a thousand dollars a month...which makes things a lil complicated

flatvirmond.com.br is where i will be moving to in about 2 weeks...

What about a Brazilian craigslist or something like that? Someone may be looking for a roommate for a few months.

craigslist.org. it's a site for your community. You go there looking for jobs, appartments, things for sale, people to hook up with. It's a crazy little site with a lot of personal ads and such.

why's that? -- why are foreigners not allowed flats-- Does that rule run across brasil?

What would you recomend, if you want to stay in Brasil longer like 6months and not pay silly expensive apartment rates which are intended for tourists staying for a few weeks...

thanks dyn!!

no what im saying is you cnt get an apt..you can only really live in a flat..

a flat is like a hotel for extended stays..works exactly like a hotel

well when i started i googled curitiba flat...and from there you should get a few options..i know the majority of stuff is in portuguese..so is not easy..but when i got here i had the help of a friend, so i really wouldnt know how to go about it if i didnt speak portuguese..most of the bigger hotels all have people who speak english, so it might be a good start stay in the holiday inn, or the sheraton that is here..and from there maybe they can help arrange a flat for you
