i bought a 20' hexagon from them and have seen them in the process of making cages i even talked to the guys who made mine in Vegas...however i dont think "throwdown is currently making any cages"

Good question, where can a man get some VT shorts for $20?

Saw this thread again after searching for something on here.

Well, they're making cages for Rashad Evans. http://www.throwdown.com/throwdown_news.php?news_id=818

They also have some new Tees and are planning a footwear line. http://www.shopthrowdown.com/footwea...ategoryID=2453

Seems like they're not dead as of now.

I don't really like them going into footwear though because the Tap Out shows I've seen suck and badly designed shoes seem common for "clothing first then to shoes" companies.

I believe throwdown is owned by combat sports, which is also owned by Ringside or they all are owned by the same parent company. I had some problems with some gear and I ended up talking to someone who had a ringside voice mail and email address, but the problems were with throwdown gear. Happened twice actually, the other time had some problems with some crappy combat sports shin guards.

I believe Combat Sports owns Ringside, Rhino Gear, and Top Contender. Then in addition to that they manufacture combat equipment for TapouT and Throwdown.

Where to start...

Ringside actually owns Combat Sports, Mat Monster, and I guess in the sense of a product line, Top Contender. Throwdown and TapouT are their own independent companies and Ringside manufactures their equipment (minus cages). Correction, Ringside has their equipment manufactured (Pakistan, China, etc). However, since Throwdown has started using CSI as its distributor, they have outsourced customer service issues to CSI as well. It's a strange, complicated relationship. Most recently Ringside has acquired the distribution rights to Everlast and Lonsdale, though Everlast is still made by Everlast, Lonsdale will be made Ringside and from what I can tell by playing with some of their new gear, some of it's the same, some of it's new.

And for a free plug on Ringside/Lonsdale - The new Monarch Curved Pads are effin' nice.
