Thank You to Scott Patterson @ Python Guards

I have nothing negative to say about him. From start to finish he handled my order professionally. Timely responses on everything, and when I fucked up on my initial impression, he sent me a new impression kit right away. He suggested that I go see a dentist to do it the second time around, and this is what I would also recommend to anyone getting a custom mouth guard.

The dentist was able to do my impression MUCH better than I was able to.

Anyway, I just received my mouthguard in the mail today. Included was a note saying that this one was imperfect, so he was going to send me another one free of charge. The imperfection is only aesthetic, as it is perfectly functional. Needless to say, I am ecstatic.

As far as the design goes, originally I was going to just have a plain black mouthguard but I figured if a design came free with it, why not? I chose something simple . . . the 4 Japanese characters on my mouthguard translate to : "Fall down seven times get up eight."

The fit is absolutely perfect, both a credit to the dentist that did my impression and to Scott. It is not too tight but it is very snug. A world of difference from your average boil and bite.

If anyone is in the market for a mouthguard, please do not hesitate to contact Scott Patterson at Python Guards.

These are pictures of the imperfect one he sent me. I will update with pictures of the second one when it arrives.

Yeah man, Scott is great. Very professional and excellent work - and when he isn't really busy I found out he's a really cool guy too.

I like the design you went with. What guard did you get from Scott?

I just received my custom guard from customguards.com...anyway, that has nothing to do with my question...

Does your guard have your bottom teeth mold in it?
Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on that if it isn't. My guard does not have my bottom teeth mold in it and I don't feel like I can clinch/bite down really tight, but also not sure if this matters.

It fits perfectly and snugly to my top teeth and I have to "pop" it out to get it off...exactly how I wanted it.

Just wondering about the bottom teeth connection when mouth is closed tight.

Thanks for anyone feedback.
Sweet custom guard btw...love the writing and meaning.

Mine does NOT have the bottom bite. I recall Scott recommending it on his website though. I guess it would be nice to have that little bottom bite but for the most part I do not clench my teeth when I spar or roll.

Thanks for the compliments. I could not be more satisfied with how it turned out.

Rolled with it for the first time last night and it was sweet.

For anyone in the market for a guard, go with Scott. Python Guards was the only company I was able to find with tons of positive reviews and ZERO negative reviews (as far as I could tell anyway). Scott goes a long way to guarantee your satisfaction.

When you order a custom mouthguard, unless you have having someone work with the alignment of your bite you aren't going to have the bottom teeth mold in it. This is something you can easily add though, and a search will explain... or you can e-mail the company you ordered from.
