Mistafighta,
We got the gi on Friday afternoon and as soon as I looked at it I knew exactly what happened to it and then I read your letter and I was right.
As we advertise, our gi's are pre-shrunk and are mercinized. To be quite honest, I have no idea exactly how they mercinize material but it guarantees the color to stay that color. Some people buy our gi's and soak them in vinegar which is fine but not necessary. However, you washed the gi with salt. NEVER wash a Gameness gi in salt. We have only had 3 gi's come back because the cotton started breaking down and all 3 were washed or soaked with salt. Somehow whatever they use to color stay our gi's reacts bad with salt and breaks down the cotton.
As far as the blue bleeding onto the patch, I couldn't find any blue on any of the patches. You said you used some bleach on the patch and perhaps that got the blue out but we have not had any problems with that before so maybe when the cotton balled up it got stuck on the patch and did something to it.
So --- for anyone else out there please DO NOT USE SALT to wash Gameness gi's.
Anyway, we will send you another gi tomorrow and I'm sure everything will be fine with this one.
Regina
