I just got off the phone with Joe and the gis are fully stocked. When I was speaking to him, the phone was ringing in the background. I'm sure they'll be sold out if you don't get your order in soon. So far I have two gold weaves and a lightweight gi. The new gold weave looks gorgeous though, I have to get one. Here's the link to the website: Padilla & Sons Kimons - Martial Arts Kimonos and Training Supplies

it's about the material: gold weave is thicker than the lightweight

what changes have been made?
the website does not indicate.

FYI, I already have a blue gold weave and blue lightweight.
now that the new ones are in, I'm planning on buying a new white gold weave

The weave is different and not as soft as the earlier version. He said the gi's will last longer from wear and tear. The sleeves are tighter too, and the logo is bigger.

Ditto p_ahn!
My thoughts exactly. Looks like the pants may have the rope drawstring. I wish Joe would have pics with zoom capability and different views!!

that's what I thought, but the thing that confused me was that the price is the same (or less for white) for the gold weave.

A. Damn! I loved the material of the earlier version

B. The sleeves were already tight enough
I was hoping the collar would be improved upon ...

still, I'll place an order for a white one very soon!

I know, the gold weave material was soft. If you have big, muscular arms the older version is a better fit. I like the new embroidered logo.
