Olympic Barbell Set

So, I'm looking at buying the beginnings of a free weight setup for my house. I think I'm gonna start with an Olympic barbell set. I've seen great deals on Weider which kind of seems like the Target brand of weight sets. What are your suggestions?

I have a full gym in my garage, I order the lighter stuff online because the shipping won't sting that much, try to look around and get your set in person, shipping will kill for a normal olympic set which comes with 300lbs.

What set would you recommend?

I saw this one and it seemed like a good deal for rubber plates:

that one's kind of pricey. I've seen 300 lb sets at Dick's sporting goods for around $140, i believe. I'm sure you can find one cheaper than that. Don't get caught up on the rubber padding either - it will probably crack and chip so I wouldn't consider that a big selling point.

if you have the$$$ those are great. I have had mine for about 3 years and they are still like new after heavy use. You can see them in my gym. I picked them up rt from sears.

Always check craigslist first. You'll probably find a full set within a week a fraction of the cost.

+1 Craigslist for weights.

I just sold 6 - 45 lb Olympic plates for $10/plate. I have too many.

Benches and whole weight sets are also cheap there also.
Hex dumb bells go for 60% retail, which isn't bad.
