I find Hayabusa's "scientific proof" that they're the top short producer completely laughable.

MMA Fight Shorts Performance Trial
ABSTRACT
PURPOSE: This study set out to examine and compare three different brands of fight shorts in 20 mixed martial arts athletes during high intensity performance exercise drills.
METHODS: 20 males subjects (24.3 +/-3.6 yr) were randomized into 1 of 3 groups (different MMA short brand) and underwent a series of 4 athletic MMA exercise drills to assess short ratings and associated performance. Group 1: Hayabusa Kyoudo Shorts (N=7), Group 2: SP shorts (N=7), Group 3: WW shorts (N=6). Each drill consisted of a set of training tasks to analyze the MMA short performance. Physical tests included, (A) take down defense drill, (B) guard grappling work, (C) heavy bag striking (kicks and knees) and (D) incline treadmill sprinting intervals with active rest box jumps. A subjective analysis based on a 1-10 rating scale was completed by all participants after each of the A-D test drills and an overall rating at the end of the entire session was also completed (E). Performance outcomes related to the MMA shorts that were measured within the questionnaires included: hip range of motion, ground mobility and grappling support, leg and hip movement, fit and comfort, and fabric performance. Rate of perceived exertion was evaluated after the completion of the entire test session (F) and total score was calculated based on cumulative scores (G).
RESULTS: Significant results (P-value set at 95% confidence interval) were demonstrated between group 1 vs. 2 and 3 for (A), (B), (C) and (E) and (G). No significant differences were found between these groups for test parameters (D) or (F).
CONCLUSIONS: Within the confines of this study, the results demonstrate that the Hayabusa Kyoudo Fight Shorts significantly outperform the other 2 fight short brands.

My guess is "SP" = Sprawl and "WW" = Warrior Wear, but I could be way of base. Heh.
Well, you can't blame them for trying. If soap brands can do it, why not fight wear companies?

I just want to add my experience with Hayabusafightwear.com's customer service has been great, and it's right up there with the best I've ever dealt with.
I emailed their contact address and got a prompt reply from the owner, Craig Clement, with very satisfactory answers to all my questions, and I had a quite a bunch of questions about the new shorts, rashguards, shipping, etc. He was very accomodating and patient, and replied to my emails even though it was on a weekend. Great guy to deal with.

^ don't hate haha. I wanna try these shorts out. Though I hate ordering on the internet, especially with clothes. It takes forever to get! The main selling point for me is the look and the elastic waistband. The drawstrings and velcro on other shorts look tedious and annoying, and the designs are all boring as fuck. Anyone got any ideas for what I should get? I've been thinking abou sprawls, but they also have the two problems I just said.
