Negative w. mouthguard

3 part question 1) I was wondering how many of you out there have a negative as part of your mouthguard. Also is this necessary or even helpful for use a no gi bjj class. 3) How much extra would it cost from protech or gladiator or biteme to do so thanks

From what I hear (and I'm waiting on my mouthguard).

You should have one cos it minimises movement among your teeth when u get hit. No sense not having one if it's easy to do.

You can do it yourself. I believe both Gladiator and Protech will send instructions on how do do it with the mouthguard.

I'm assuming by a negative you mean a lower bite indentation on the under side of your guard.

I can't answer the question about how many have that feature but in all honesty everone should. Having a bite helps lock the lower jaw against lateral, prognathic and retrognathic movements.( front, back and side to side)

Instructions are sent out with all guards on how to add the bites to your guard. There is no extra cost and there should never be.

You won't be reheating your guard with a torch or any fire that can ruin the guard. It's all done with very hot water, a bowl and a few minutes of your time.
