Need help finding a piece of equipment.

I've seen these things a few times but have no clue what they are called. They are elastic things that are attached to a stationary object behind you. You then hold the ends in your hands and punch against the resistance. Is this an actual piece of equipment that is intended for this, or is it something people have made or adapted for this use?

Google "resistance bands." I prefer the non-tubular flat kind...

They may not have been intended specifically for punching, but their purpose isn't completely unrelated. I have a couple packages of them from when I was really into disc golf... I've never used them in my MMA training, but they certainly helped get my distance and endurance up for throwing discs...

people use them for that, and also a looser variant for shoot-cables for wrestling, and sprawl-cables.

Ball golf or disc golf? I've never played ball golf in my life, but at one point I did own 60 something golf discs and played at least 36 holes a day. The worst injury I've ever gotten from sports was from disc golf... that's not counting the black eye that I got from being kneed in the face at the gym a couple weeks ago, since that only hurt for a couple minutes and the rest was just cosmetic...

I messed up my throwing arm so badly that I couldn't sleep for more than two hours without it spasming and waking me up. At one point I couldn't even manage to carry my full 32oz Nalgene bottle for more than a couple minutes. I was on muscle relaxers for three weeks before it went away...

In any case... back to the topic... resistance bands helped me throw almost any driving disc over 400 feet with 10 foot accuracy.

For the OP - I'm not sure if they sell the kind that attach to a wall, but you can find a variety of resistance bands from companies like Title.
