My hardest gi decision yet (help needed desperatly)

Alright, So i narrowed down my choices in gi's to mkimonos and koral. I have heard a few people tell me Koral is the best bang for your buck. its such a big name and in so many peoples opinion an overall great gi. The Mkimono on the other hand has gotten rave reviews from those who have worn it. They both seem like great gis. Koral is the bigger name out of the two. I felt my friends gi the other day, and I love the koral fabric. So, basically ill be either getting a koral plain, or an mkimonos hybrid weave. Which of these would you buy and why? What pants are better, what materials are better... etc.I went with a little named company last time i bought a gi (sirius) and i wasn't that happy. I dont want to get a smaller name again when i have the opportunity to get a big name like koral gi. thank you.

I've never used an MKimono, but I love my blue A2 Koral classic. Fits perfectly (I'm 5'8'' 170). What's nice about the Koral is they are pre-shrunk so you can put it in the dryer without worrying. I had actually asked my coach Kurt Pellegrino what gi he would recommend out of all gi's before I made the decision to buy a new one and he told me to go with Koral because they "last the longest and don't shrink." He uses the MKM Competition (He said the sleeves and such are a little bigger, etc.), but I went with the classic.

hmm im 5'7 178 (177.8 when i woke up this mourning, yay for dieting) and i think it would have a perfect fit on me as well. I think im not gonna fool around with the smaller companies any more. I might as well just go to a one thats internationally recognized. Unless im seriously told off im just going to get a koral.

I have worn a few different Gis, but never an mkimonos. However of the gis I have tried I wil only guy Koral now. They are pre-shrunk. good material. Durable. moderately priced.

Either way you aren't going to go wrong. I'm not sure about Koral being more bang for your buck, as it's just a standard single weave, whereas MKimonos come in a bunch of different weaves (all theoretically more durable) and, last I checked, they were all cheaper than Koral. If you want a fancy color go with Koral, if you are satisfied with white or blue go with MKimonos. Koral gis are going to shrink to a much much smaller extent (some say they don't shrink at all) than MKimonos will, another consideration.

If you have any time constraints go with Koral as MKimonos isn't exactly the fastest shipper.

I want the basic white one in either company. I do like the koral look better though. All signs are pointing to koral right now, is there anything so incredible about mkimonos that warrants me buying it over a koral?

Do you know what the difference between a single weave and a hybrid/gold weave is? That should answer your question. You can get the Lutador Americano version of MKimonos gis for $110 in either hybrid or gold weave, the MKimonos version is $130 for either weave. Koral is $145 for a single weave.

THe koral is 30, i hear koral, although a single weave is extremely durable, so koral it is.

Have you looked into the Gameness Pearl yet? It is pretty much a Koral style gi with the rubber hose sewn into the collar like the Atama.

As a proud owner of both. I prefer my Koral. The pants are much much better and it doesn't shrink.
