My Expensive TO BUY List!

hey guys, i've just recently started bjj....been doing muay thai for a year and planning on getting decent at both..then trying the mma game.

Keep in mind i'm planning on training very hard, bjj, wrestling and muay thai, 5 days a week just in case this seems excessive. I want to get lots of different brands ....good to collect and just to see which ones i like etc, maybe when i get them i can do a review on each...rank them..and why etc.

Anyways, i'm gonna save up..then buy a shitload of gear. Anyway here's what is on my list so far - brands so far..i'll figure out which model...etc when i buy them. Remember my opinions on which brands are good and bad are ENTIRELY based on what goes on this forum so it can change.

Gi’s –
• 1 x Fuji
• 1 x HCK - on its way

Rashguards –
• 1x Koral – long sleeve
• 1x Truth – short sleeve
• 3 x K-mart (aus) - long sleeve

MMA shorts –
• 1x Truth
• 1x Sprawl
• 1x Koral
• 1x Fairtex All Sport

Buy mma training gloves –
• 2 x Truth Grappling Training Glove - was between truth and csi, but i went for the cheaper route

Any suggestions on my list are welcome.

Thanks guys, appreciate it.....looks like i'm on my way to being a gear and equipment junkie.

I love Sirius rashguards. They add a few inches at the bottom and that makes a huge difference. I hate when rashguards ride up and all of a sudden you're wearing a sports bra. The Koral rashguard has a drawstring at the bottom, but that doesn't do SH#T!!! I'm not bitter or anything. Pick up a Sirius rashguard, you won't be disappointed.

Edit: I saw that you mentioned V&M stuff. Although it may look cool, V&M stuff is not quality. I would not recommend their stuff. I've heard nothing but great things about Manto rashies.

That's a big list! I have to advise against V&M rashguards however, I had one and the writing/design rubbed off rather quickly.

Get the damn wal-mart rashguards for $12! Same as under-armour but cheaper. You can get several for the price of one name brand. Trust me you won't mind saving money.

Before you drop hundreds of dollars on this stuff, make sure that your 'plan' to train hard translates into actual hard training.

That's way more than required. But it's your money and I'm not going to tell your what to do with it.

Get 2 gis for a start. For me, personally, I tend to buy them one at a time until I find something I like upon which I tend to hug their nuts till the end of time.

At the end of the day, this is a sport you can practice and excel in just a pair of shorts pretty much if you so pleased.

of course, but at the end of the day...martial arts is my passion.
I don't drink, smoke...or even go clubbing...and i'm 19.

I'm currently working fulltime...and other than my car...i have nothing to spend my money on really. So i think $1000 is hardly anything....everyone would be lying if they said they don't enjoy wearing a nice pair of shorts...even though it won't really affect ur performance. And this gear will last me for quite awhile too.

More power to you.

Just curious, where in Melbourne are you? I'm thinking of visiting Oz.

But mate, $1000US.... That's a lot of coin. I've spent more than that myself, but that's over like a 3 year period and I lost mouthguards at one point in time. And some of course wasn't for training equipment, it was for hoodies and stuff.

My advice would still be try gis and shorts one at a time. Start with the reviews and stuff here and try to find one brand you like gradually. Easiest way to save money. Especially gis, they're expensive and they're not all created (and more importantly cut) equal.
