Muay Thai Gloves

Although they are many many glove threads out there, but I was unable to find the info I’m looking for. Any help would be appreciated. I am looking to get a new pair of gloves for Muai Thai. I am currently using cheap “top contender” gloves they sell at my gym, the only good thing about these gloves are they come in sizes (M, L, XL). Most of the gloves I’ve been looking at (Windy, Twins, Fairtex) the only sizing is the weight. I a “large” person (6’3” – 270) and have big hands, I am worried that I’ll end up spending $80-$100 on gloves and not be able to get them on my hands (especially coming from Thailand, everything is so small). So I guess my questions are:

Do any of these brands run a little bigger than the other?

Looking at the Everlast MT gloves, what the difference btw them and regular boxing gloves?

Ron (SSF) how do your gloves (Redglov) run in size compaired to the gloves from Thailand?

Thanks for you help.

The Redglov is cloned after the Fairtex and fit just like the Fairtex gloves. You should be fine with any of the gloves. The shorts from Thailand run small but the gloves are pretty standard(size wise). Just get a good pair of 16oz and you should be fine. All the brands you mention are good gloves.

The thai gloves have a longer wrist support and more padding around the wrist. They will also postion your hand differently then boxing gloves.

I agree the shorts in Thailand run a lot smaller. I would go with the fairtex gloves, I had 3 pairs and loved it, cant go wrong with it

Twinns are good, but they are too stiff for me, thats why I like the fairtex. I guess everyone diffrent, it is hard to say whith is better because everyone has a diffrent preferance.

Please go with the 20oz with which ever brand you go with. I sparred someone your size and was almost knocked. The majority of people 170lbs and under use 16oz, so imagine you. Windy has the best reviews for Muay Thai training gloves. So I'd go with them.

There's one downside to the search function...
