OP, Flounder has given some very sound advice here, the only thing I would add is to still have in an over-the-counter double, designed for wear with braces, even though it is "no-contact". There will be some shifting going on and having the wrong custom in is like wearing a retainer that doesn't fit, if you have it in for long periods of time, it could actually make your teeth sore from the moving they are already going through, i.e. getting in a new wire, etc.
