more than one heavy bag

what do you guys do with your other bags? I have a Everlast 100lb bag and a 50lb TKO canvas bag. I've been thinking about getting a thai bag in the near future but I don't know what to do with the other bags if I do. The 100lb is nice but the way it hangs it gets too soft at the top and swings like crazy if i try to do any low kicks. The bag also has no d ring at the bottom to anchor it somehow. The 50 lb was originally bought for my mom a couple of years ago. It's packed nicely but it too lite for me to do anything other than soft hits and way too short for any kind of kicks. I can only have one bag up at a time and its a real pain to try and take down the 100lb bag and put it up by myself, so the 50lb is just sitting in the corner collecting dust.

Use the extra bags for lifting. Not only will it make you more explosive and strong, it will emulate grappling/wrestling. Practice slams, takedowns, lifting and running, cleans, snatches.

I have an Everlast 100lb. heavy bag right now and I just ordered a Fairtex banana bag last week. When my banana bag comes I'm going to use my 100lb. heavy bag for a throwing dummy and a ground and pound bag. That's what I would recommend doing.

Other than the suggestions of using as a grappling/throwing dummy, your other option is to buy an unfilled bag, and use the filling from your previous bags to save some cash.

IIRC, filled thai bags usually cost at least $20 more than their unfilled alternative, plus $25 or so for extra shipping charges.

So you can save yourself around $40-50 if you want.

There is always this:

It an attachment for a regular heavy bag. That way you can convert what you already have easily and save some $$.

For the Record: I have NO idea if these are any good or not.

Um, that add on is for Ringside's free standing heavy bag, not for any generic bag.

Wow thats a great idea!

On a side note has anyone added a foam liner to the inside of their bags. I'm thinking about removing the stuffing from one of the bag and adding the foam liner to keep it from warping so much when its kicked. I was also thinking that it would displace some of the extra space if I reduced the amount of stuffing in the bag. Thanks for te ideas.
