MMAMuscle.com appears to drop ship most of their goods... my recent order came from Ringside, so they are just the middle man and the package is actually shipping from the manufacturer... this makes things complicated, especially for getting reliable tracking information. I didn't even know my order had shipped until I got a UPS delivery notice.

My latest order was the same thing - Shipped from Ringside, and I didn't even get a delivery notice of any kind.

But since pretty much all/most of Paul's items are on sale from Ringside/CSI's prices, not to mention their customer service isn't of the highest regard around here, I'm willing to sacrifice being able to know what state my package is in to save $10-15+ (and this is coming from a tracking # freak).

In my case, I saved $30, plus the 5% coupon he gave me. Well worth ordering through a 'middle man.'

And what the hell does 'drop ship most of their goods' mean?

who cares.. he might be the middle man but he still hooks us up.. i mean if you want the tracking number so bad spend the extra money and order from ringside since its so complicated for you.. stop complaining.. Paul, Ron, Steve, nogi, and all the other companies try to help everyone they can.. and i would rather save 10-15 dollars buying from paul then paying extra money for a stupid tracking number.. dont complain about the people who try to help you.. be thankful that they even try helping every sherdogger that they can.. i mean they dont have to.. but they do... dont chase them away with all the whining..

Yeah, I agree with this... it's worth it to save some money.

You could have easily googled this or gleaned the definition from my post. Drop shipping is basically what middle men do. We order from MMAMuscle.com and MMAMuscle.com drop ships the package (ie. it's never in their hands, they contact the distributor/manufacturer and they ship it direct to the customer.)

What the fuck is this supposed to mean? Did my original post seem to be angry or dissatisfied? No, it didn't. I just appreciate getting tracking information because my school/training schedule keeps me away from my residence during delivery hours and I live in an area where they can't leave the package or have a neighbor sign for it. I'd appreciate a note on the site that informs me that I'm not going to get a tracking number. I appreciate saving the money, but at the same time I'd like to get it in a timely fashion, not knowing when the package is going to arrive complicates such things... sometimes I'm not able to make it to the UPS/FedEx/DHL/USPS place for days after the package could have been delivered. If I know when it's coming I'm a whole lot happier.

Go back and read my post. Am I saying anything unfair about MMAMuscle.com? No. Am I telling anyone not to shop there? No. Your response makes it seem like I did something totally out of line. I'm simply pointing out something other people who are ordering from them may not already know.

i know exactly where you're coming from; that's why i feel tracking is so important. a lot of guys jumped on me for even starting this thread.

but after a few more PM's with Paul, he took care of everything as promised and even made a life customer out of me. after years of doing transactions online, i'm happy to say that i recieved my best customer satisfaction experience to date from an MMA company

On my first order from MMAmuscle, I PM'ed him about getting a tracking number and he got it to me. He mentioned that he doesn't always get tracking numbers out extremely quickly. But I think if you give him a heads up that you really want a tracking number with your order (probably should put it in the order's additional comments section) he'll make sure you get one as quickly as he can. Otherwise it's just not a huge priority.

My first order, I only PM'ed him about it afterwards, and although he was out of the office for the weekend that I sent the PM, he gave me a heads up that he would get the tracking number for me and I had it early Monday morning.

People can get a bit testy with these type of things because you really have to be around the boards to comprehend the effect of bad word of mouth here...

Check out this thread on Combat Sports that started as a simple issue of back-ordered items not being properly displayed:

Combat Sports? NEVER AGAIN

By the end of the thread, the CSI rep was pretty much scared away from the boards. I'm not saying that people don't have a right to tell the truth about companies, but the thread basically became a source for people trolling the thread to get attention for their problem, because they realized if there problems were handled publically in the thread it would make the company look bad.

So when there are people who have good relationships with Paul, or any company (particularly the ones that rep here on the board), they don't want one or two bad stories making a company appear inept or poor. In Paul's case, he's made special coupon codes just for Sherdoggers (PM him for the coupon, if anyone wasn't already aware), he's added new merchandise (hell, entire brands of merchandise, not just items) simply on the request or appeal of the users here.

And when you really look at this thread, it's already started to take on some of the negative-publicity-whining characteristics. I'm not trying to bash any specific users, but just because a company rep doesn't call someone back immediately, it doesn't mean his company should be guilt tripped into needing to work every post of this thread to try and save face.

And Amphibious, I wasn't trying to bash you on 'drop shipping', I just haven't heard that as a verb since I played Starcraft.... wow... years ago. And don't mind the others jumping on your case - similiar to what I posted above, they probably read 'middleman' with a negative connotation, thinking you were trying to insult Paul.

yea dude i was being a harsh.. but Nate hit it on the spot.. i mean you were complaining that you werent getting tracking numbers.. and you did say mmamuscle was the "middle man.."

alot of the company owners dont come to sherdog anymore because people complained about them.. and you cant get mad about paul not sending you a tracking number.. he just opened his company like 2 months ago.. he sent tracking numbers before probably because buisness wasnt as crazy as it is now.. so you have to cut paul a break.. i mean look at my sig.. Most people would agree that paul takes care of sherdog to the best of his abilities..
