Icon10 MMA Gloves - Fairtex VS> Ouano

Just joined =)

Hey guys,
I was supposed to go to my first MMA class in...7 minutes, but I havn't had time to pick up a jock so I guess I'll go to the next class Laughing

Anyways, I'm just starting and would like advice on which gloves to choose.

Official UFC Ouano Glove (Open Palm, Thumbless): http://www.mmawarehouse.com/oua-1002.html

or

Fairtex Ultimate Combat Gloves (Open Palm, Thumbless):
http://www.mmawarehouse.com/faulfigl.html

They're the same price, I'd just like to know which you guys would reccomend (I really don't know which to purchase, but I am aware these were rated equally by a Fighting magazine).

Lastly, do you reccomend a THUMBLESS glove or a glove with THUMB? Please advise and thanks so much, your help is invaluable to me.

Kyle =D

Hmm..read really old posts on this forum..looks like I should go with the Fairtex:

http://www.mmawarehouse.com/faulfigl.html

Guess my only question is if M is the size for me..I'm 160 lbs, 6'2" and it says in the size chart: Medium: 110 to 180 lb <but is that really all that correct? I tried BOeS L size MMA gloves at my gym and the fingers were quite loose :\..

you won't be able to train full force with those 4oncers. it would be better to invest in some mma type sparring gloves.

^^^^agreed

I would consider buying some MMA sparring gloves as opposed to some hard, small gloves that hurt like hell when you get hit.

Or ask your instructor what type of gloves he recommends. Also you can look at what other people are wearing, if you see them with all sparring gloves, I would not suggest getting comp. type gloves.

I got those, they are great for full contact sparring. You can go just about 100% depending on how hard you hit lol.

Stupid me >< Thanks for the heads up.

Via the search I have found people reccomend the CSI gloves (CSI MMA Training glove review *pics*) and the SSF. Price isn't really a worry, I'd prefer quality. Do you guys know if these are good?: http://www.mmawarehouse.com/fairtexfgv15.html I'd prefer the brand name of Fairtex, and as I am already purchasing multiple other items from MMA Warehouse it's nice to save on shipping.

SOOO....SSF Shooto - CSI Shooto - or the FAIRTEX ()??

I'd like to go 100% full-contact sparring ..eventially

Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it.

Personally I didn't like my CSI safety training gloves. I'd go with the fairtex or SSF shooto.

I've decided not to go with the SSF (few reasons) so I guess I'll prob. just purchase the Fairtex (unless people reccomend CSI over it).

I'd also take a look at the Primetime MMA training gloves. You can get them from SSFgear.com. I prefer these gloves though i have never used the SSF shooto gloves. They are built just like comp gloves just with more padding. They also preovide excellent wrist support with out tapeing.
