So, I finally received my FIRST pair of Nogi shorts, the OE and Phantom model. These shorts were better than I expected. I decided to wear my Phantom’s to my MMA class, bad mistake, my partner grabbed a hand full of shorts and as I kicked out, the stitching by the NOGI logo on the right side ripped, so, in a pissed off rage, in the trash that pair went(actaully, i gave them away to some guy who said he would sow them up, same sh!t though). I still dig the OE pair; however, I’ll just stick to my Sprawls when I train.

I believe I would've at least contacted nogi and given them the opportunity to rectify the problem as my first line of action-- most mma gear companies seem pretty quick to replace faulty gear, even in odd circumstances.

Owning phantoms and several other pair of nogi myself, I've never experienced the sort of tearing mishap you describe. Maybe I've just been lucky, or not training with spazzes.

my second line of action, incidentally, would've been extracting vengeance upon the moron who tore my damned shorts, because I would've been pissed. I've trained for the better part of five years and never tore a single pair of shorts of ANY brand. I really can't imagine what sort of circumstances, outside of perhaps a competition/tournament, where that sort of balls out force should even come into play.

If they tore on one of your first sessions, you probably could have just sent them back to Nogi for a brand new pair (especially if you liked your other shorts). Most MMA companies at this point are really good about that, because they know how important it is to keep each customer.

I'm not too worried about it, we were both going hard and sh!t happens.

It was my very first session; however, i tried contacting Nogi a few times about another matter, but to no avail. I'm in no way down playing Nogi's quality by no means, bottom line, it happens, i'll just be sticking to Sprawls from now on.

Actually, like EVERYWHERE online it seems that they will stand by their products. Especially fightwear companies I have found.

Well, this is the first I've heard of this. (I never got an email) This is also the first time I've heard of our shorts ripping. . .ever. (aside from the guy who complained about ripping then, fill us in on the fact it was from getting caught up in his dryer)

Anyway. Normally, the way it works is: You buy the shorts --> The shorts have a problem --> You send 'em back --> We give you new ones.

However, without the torn ones, we'll still replace the shorts at no charge.
