MMA equipment.

Is there a regulation length on MMA shorts? I know that Royces shorts look longer than most at UFC 60, but is there a regulation? Because i want to get longer shorts, reminiscent of Gi pants, for when i fight.

As long as you are in the same Org as Aoki, you will probably be able to get away with whatever.

Ya but dont you have to wear Shorts in the US, Actually i think you can wear pants in most smaller orgs, but just have to wear shorts in UFC.

here are some kimono (gi) shorts. They look pretty sweet.

How are they Gi shorts, i mean what is different? I looked at them. They do look sweet but not long. Are they supposed to be longer than reg shorts?

they are same cotton material as gi pants. basically Gi pants made shorter. I actually saw some even longer ones a while back that kind of looked like Capri pants, but they were a bit feminine looking.

Ya, but the only reason i want them to be like gi pants is for the length, so i can hold my lockdown in halfgaurd without worrying so much about someone slipping there leg out, The gi pant length would wipe the sweat off of us

I see. To my knowledge the UFC doesn't allow gi pants for precisely that reason. There are probably smaller US organizations that do, though. idk

they would have to be as long as gi pants if they're going to help you with a lockdown. But you don't need pants or shorts to hold down a good lockdown. And don't dress for having someone in your half guard, dress for comfort so you can easily transition between the styles which make up MMA. Eddie Bravo swears by gi pants without the gi top, and he wears tubigrip and foot sleeves in order to better hold down rubber guard techniques. of course he's doing Jiu Jitsu, not full MMA.
