Stop with the "tapout can do w/e cause they support fighters" crap

Now first of all I appreciate the help younger and unknown fighters get.

That being said there is always debate over tapout and guys that say they are douche bags and then the counter argument is always "hey they support young fighters so fuck you what have you done for the sport!"

The fact of the matter is the sport would support itself better if it had a better image. Want to know what would support ALL the fighters more? The sport being more mainstream. The more mainstream the sport becomes the more overall money will circulate threw it and this will be able to help far more fighters a lot more then tapout ever could. Dont get me wrong though, im still glad they discovered some talent.

MMA becoming more mainstream will have the greatest positive affect, but the time it takes for this to happen will be longer the more people act like this. When the general public associates cage fighting with violence and its main representatives are the tapout guys on tv and a bunch of highschool hard ass wanna be's mean mugging everyone in their tapout gear its gonna increase the amount of time the negative connotation stays with the sport.

Totally agree. I think their motto "bad for the sport" or whatever it says, is a little true. I mean, good for them that they have made themselves recognizable, because without the silly makeup and wigs, nobody would know who they were. Smart marketing, but the sport needs more positive people representing it. Im so sick of seeing guys on tuf act like amimals tearing apart houses and jumping through doors.

I appreciate them, becasue they were there basically from the start and have helped out a lot.

but I also think they are not the best representation of the sport..and it would be cool if they didnt put themselves in the spotlight as much, and just pushed the clothes/sponsoring/events.

they are getting paid and I'm sure they care more about that then what anyone thinks about them and their way of doing business. I own some Tapout gear and I used to think it was actually cool before I realized the mall was littered with people wearing Tapout gear, most who have no knowledge of mma.

tapout has been supporting fighters from day 1.....they built there company from the ground up. i mean people wouldnt hate tapout if it wasnt sold everywhere now days, i dont really see anything wrong with them other than the fact that posers love wearing there shirts. MMA gear will sell themselves now days because the sport is growing fast. dont hate tapout, hate the posers lol

Everyone is all about putting down the TapouT guys. They were down with it from day one. They were some of the original sponsers of the MMA. When fighters still had to have a real jobs and fight as a hobby they were there to help offset the costs. They had to market themselves to sell shirts. They did what they had to do and it works. If you ask the average joe off the streets to name an MMA clothing brand what are 99 percent of them going to say? Is that selling out? Hell yea selling is the plan stan. But the difference that everyone misses is that they are keeping the money in the Sport. They have been asked to venture out and sponser BMX or Nascar and have turned it down because they want to keep the money in the sport. Do they have too? No but they do. And now all the so called Hardcore fans are hating them cause they sell there stuff in the mall. What would you have them do just sell at the UFC's or out of their trunk like in the beginning? Come on now. As for what they sold on their website back in the day. It was what they wanted to sell, it was their website and they can sell whatever the hell they wanted. They are not MMA just a clothing line inspired by MMA. They do not represent MMA but are a product of it. Do you think that all MMA fans run around with fake afros and face paint? So be as quick on judging guys that made it in this world the way they wanted too without selling out what they believe to make you happy.
