Make Your Own Tear Drop Bag?

Well, someone had a thread in the Conditioning forum on making your own heavy bag, so I'm just going to post here what I did there.

The idea is just a basic, I'm pretty sure it'll need some tweaking so PLEASE if you have any ideas to make this work, let me know. This could turn out to be a good cheap way for someone to make they're own bag.

It was inspired by Ross E. Swiss Water Ball. Basically get a swiss ball, fill it 70% (or something like that) with water, the rest air, and get some strong mesh (net) and hang it up. Shouldn't cost more that $20 and would simulate a tear drop bag. The mesh shouldn't interfere with the gloves if its space/thin enough.

Of course I'm probably missing a key step and whoever tries this as is will be destined to have it burst on them, but I'm sure with a little tweaking it could be done.

Getting a mesh sack durable enough to take a beating seems like a real specialty item. Iam not even sure where I would begin to look.

Perhaps cut a heavy duty canvas tarp into a circle large enough to encase the ball. Then ring the perimeter of the circular tarp with grommets (available at a hardware store) and then lace the whole thing up with some strong nylon rope?

Ya, that might do the trick. Another guy (from the other thread) mentioned something about using corn kernels instead of water.

I was given an old swiss ball, the annoying kind with the spikes on it, so maybe I'll sacrifice it to the experiment gods this weekend.
