Looking for good, affordable shorts, suitable for grappling and stand up.

I'm surfing online to find the best and cheapest shorts for mma training. Where should I look and what brand?

What's your price range.

Sprawl's newest shorts, the V-flex, come very highly recommended on the board and run around $40. (www.sprawl.tv).

Their old design, the FlexFighter, can still be purchased off their site (in the Clearance section) for $32 I believe. Those are still good shorts for the price though. Sprawl's shorts are considered some of the best in the business, and you're not going to find many shorts from reputable mma companies for less than $30 anyways.

SSF's shorts (another popular company on the boards) run for around $30. They sell Rhino shorts for $28.

If you're looking to go much lower than that, you're probably going to sacrifice some quality (getting closer to traditional board shorts). I have seen Thai shorts for less than $25 though.

Sites to look around at:
www.sparwl.tv
www.ssfgear.com (sell multiple brands)
www.mmawarehouse.com/ (sell multiple brands)

mmawarehouse only sells sprawls btw...

anyway, truth brand boardshorts are by far the best bang for your buck.. $25

or u can just get regular surfing boardshorts if you're cheap like that.. at like target, walmart, ross, tj max, marshall's, jcpenny.... etc etc.. they wont last as long and will most likely rip/tear if u train really hardcore.. i noticed they're also a little tighter around the hip area..

Only problem with the Truth shorts are that they sell out of the popular sizes (30, 32, 34) really fast.

I second the cheap boardshorts. I went to Target to look for some recently because my gf wanted to go to the beach right after work and they were only like 8 bucks. I train in them too, make sure you get one thats 1 size bigger if you do go that route. Um if your training partners are anything like mine, avoid anything with flowers on it.

I have used board shorts from wal-mart that weren't too bad. I just got a pair of truth shorts and they can't be beat for $25
