london ontario BJJ Gi

Hey everyone,

I am new to BJJ and have taken a few no-gi classes with Fateh's Fight Club and am loving it. I would like to get into his Gi classes.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can buy a Gi? Any other equipment advice/tips related to Gi-Jiu-Jitsu would be awesome.

Fateh's club recommends Fight Planet on their site for gear, but unfortunately they are all out of gis in my size, (6ft, ~180pounds).

Thanks alot for any help on this!

Hey bro, that's too bad because Riccardo is the man over at The Fight Planet. For now you can try Sameh at the Victory Fight Club in Vaughn. I think he can get you a starters gi for around $95.00. Good luck with it.

a newbie gi is a good idea, very good

but are you taking this seriously? i mean do you see yourself doing BJJ with gi in lets say 3 years? that case better go for a good known one ,one that last : ) theyre not that expensive

the difference from a newbie gi (99 dlls aprox) to a good rep gi (150 dlls aprox) is gonna be a lot of being comfortable and maybe with good care even a couple more years of good use : )

Hey guys,

Thanks for the input. [Passion Crime], yes I do plan on taking it seriously and want stay with the sport for years to come. At this point my interests mainly lie in progressing through belts and learning strong technique, so I can definitely see myself sticking with bjj gi for years to come. While I am a huge mma fan, I don't plan on training to fight necessarily, more for just respect and adoration of bjj.

Thanks Westie for your suggestion as well. Maybe I should give Fight Planet a call to see what's up. I said they were out of my size because that's what their site says, but that's never really reliable for any site.

Do many people wear groin protection for gi bjj? If so, any specific kinds?

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Are you willing to travel to get a Gi or you want it shipped? There are lots of places in the GTA.
