Kyokushin Karate Gi

Hi,
I was wondering if you guys knew of any good, quality gi's which I could use for Kyokushin Karate. I'd like a lightweight because I'd think you'd have the most mobility in them..and you wouldn't be as hot

I found this on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/KYOKUSHIN-KARATE...QQcmdZViewItem

Very nice look but I have no idea in regards to the quality. And reccomendations on gis would be appreciated. I don't know anything about gi's, which weight to get, what to get, etc. So please share

Thanks!

I would wait 3 days before you buy anything and see if you change your mind again.

Ask your instructor after you join a school.

Right.advice.WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT !!!!!!!!!

So far you have been running around this board trying to work out what to do/take/study/buy.CALM DOWN !!!I have seen posts from you about whether to study Kyoshinkai, stay with Muay Thai,do Goju with your Dad, MMA,BJJ.....Just stop, take a step back and look at what your aims/desires and goals are.Take some KK classes as this seems to be what you have currently decided upon.Turn up and train in track suit bottoms/shorts and an old T-shirt to start with.See if you actually like it and want to stick with it or whether you will change your mind again and move on to another art.

Your Sensei will almost certainly not object to you in trackies/Tees etc.Maybe when you come up to your first grading you buy a cheap gi.You are only 16 I believe,no-one expects you to wear top of the range gear(unless your dad is worth a fortune in which case get him to PM me!)When you have trained for a little while then think about buying a better Gi.Bear in mind that gi's are liable to get dirty from peoples feet, blood and sweat. No point buying an expensive one for you to start with is there?

People from here roll in cheap shorts ,tees etc.(as well as the lucky gits like Ron!!!!!!)
If it does the job okay and is functional who cares if you are not a fashion icon(okay that was the wrong thing to say to a 16 year old!!!!)

Just wait.Okay?

ROFL. You've read my posts, huh. Well the reason I'm switching styles is basically because of the teachings. I'm leaving my current Muay Thai gym because the beginner classes are a joke. I am joining KK if the teacher(s) are good. To compliment KK I am taking up ground-game as well. I am most likely going with SalvosaBJJ's gym..to learn..BJJ I was considering Judo as it's free, but I really have no interest in Judo so I've scratched that possibility as well as JuJitsu (because there's no dojo's near me which teaches that).

So..KK and BJJ it is for me. I'm trying the classes out first, of course, just to confirm the good things I've heard about the dojo/gym. As for the gi - I don't give a care in the world if it's name brand, they all look the same to me. By quality wise I mean..good fitting, easy to move with, durable, etc. - don't care about the logo/brand.

Yeh, I'll ask my instructor, though - maybe he has some decent gi's for sale. I'm just wondering about the weights. I want lightweight as it's probably the most easy to move with, but is this weight the right thing to get for Full Contact Karate? lol..
