Koral Gi Collar?

I just received my Koral gi from JiuJitsuprogear. I have to say its a real nice gi, very light, and comfortable. The cuffs are a little tighter than I expected. My biggest concern is the collar. The collar is super thin. I mean it almost feels like one of those cheap century gi's collar. Why would they do this. I am debating on if i should keep it or return it. The collar is super thin? What do you guys think?

the collar is fine, your koral should last you a long time.

I have seen some guys in my gym that have knock off koral gi's they are made wicked cheap. Looks like the collar was deflated like a ballon. i heard JJProgear had good service though.

The collar is fine, its stretchy like a rubber band which helps defeat chokes.

Yeah they have thin ass collars. Doesn't matter though. I get choked less with my mkimono and the collar is just as thin.

I am just worried that they collar is too thin and it might be easier to do collar chokes. But if you guys say that it is actually a good gi to defend chokes then i guess i wont worry too much. If the pros wear koral than im sure its not easy to get choked.

The Koral collar is thin because it is mostly rubber with a layer of cotton fabric over over it. Other gis just have many layers of fabric which make it stiffer & thicker.

Koral does that for lightness & comfort, & the gi also dries much faster because of it. I love mine, I haven't noticed any difference rolling in it except that its much more comfortable.
