According tho this:

They are fairly comparable to the Fairtex and Twins MMA gloves. Its hard to tell from the pics but they look like they are about usual size for MMA gloves, maybe 5mm thicker accross the knuckle padding.

well, they supposably weigh 4 oz. more. Yet they look just as big as the ouando ones.

Here the Kikskins differ from pretty much every glove on the market. To anticipate demands from various U.S. athletic commissions, Kikskin have produced the gloves in 2 weights. 8oz and 10oz. The weight is the first thing you notice when you pick these up. They are about 4 times heavier than the Ouano UFC gloves.

Is this good? Well for the striker, yes. The gloves will protect your knuckles better. There may be some added protection against cuts, but expect the KO's to increase, as the added weight increases kinetic energy.
point?

That would be a matter of interpretation.... I use spartan gloves for training but my mate likes the fairtex thumbless gloves, I dont mind either one really but he hates the Spartan gloves.

My point is what is good for one person may not be good for another, maybe find a store that has the Kikskin gloves and try them on & get a feel for them.

The padding on these gloves feels like a rock. I wouldn't want to get hit with these.

Alright guys, I used these gloves in my two amateur fights, and yes they do feel heavy, and have great construction and can last a long time, but my opinion is they are too dangerous for MMA competition. I was hit by a good cross/hook, can't remember, and it fuckin hurt like hell. And the opponents weren't even specialists at striking! These gloves can cause serious damage if it was worn by someone like Wanderlei Silva against a Marcio Cruz. I would say, for MMA comps, it should be kept at 4oz.
