kickboxing gear

I recently started kickboxing. I hate using the gear at the gym. It stinks and doesn't fit well. I got some extra cash and would like to get some of my own. I want headgear, 16oz gloves, shin guards and a jock. I was looking at Dick Sporting Goods. They carry Everlast and TKO equipment. I am new to the martial arts world. Is Everlast to martial arts like weider is to weightlifting equipment? Can someone point me in the right direction. I would prefer to try on gloves before I go buying them off the internet but what can you do. How does the headgear run size wise? I have a small head, I don't want to purchase the wrong size. Same with the jock. How does that run size wise. Thanks guys.

I like the looks of these and read the reviews.

Are they good for kickboxing? Are they 16oz? I know they say sparring gloves. I will assume that they are 16oz. What you guys think?

I also like their shin guards.

I talked with him. I ordered the boxing gloves in the link above and the shin pads. All SSF. I am waiting for SSF headgear to come in.
