5"10 220lb 36-38"waist is there a GI for me. Advise ..also A3-A4 pearl

HI

As stated in title I am 5"10 220lbs.. with a 36-38" waist. Any advise for finding a GI my size. I like the gameness pearl. Gameness says A3, retailer says A4..but would be big. From what I read it will not shrink. Read one review on here of an A3 where one guy says it fit small at 205lbs. Not sure what to do...anyone around my size or know anyone

looking at all options

Been training no gi and hurt back...been laid up and got fat...well fatter Returning to gi...will be my first one

Any other suggestions...trying to find a GI...looking to keep it around $110

Any help or suggestions would be great

Feel free to flame me but i read the faq....I fall in none of the sizing charts

I have a A3 Ouano Gi...

and I'm 5'5 200 pounds... Waist size 34-36"

As for fitting around my waist.. I think its a perfect fit....

As for length.. man I wish it was shorter.. its about 2" inches from where I want it to be.. (above my ankle)

Hope this helps...

I'm 5' 8.5", about 225 pounds, with a roughly 38" waist and my A3 Atama fit's pretty well, if that helps...

Funny I was just looking at their web site. Which Gi do you have? I am looking at the single and summer....I hate the heat when I am training

For bigger guys, you might want to consider getting a judogi since judoka tend to have stockier builds than BJJ guys in my experience.

I'm 5'9.5" @ 205 and I wear A3 in my Gameness Pearl, Vulkan, and Koral Classic, and I'd think that it would be a snug fit at 220, but doable.

Um, I don't know, I've only being doing BJJ for like a month, I got the Gi for free because I opted to pay for a whole year's memebership at the Yamasaki Academy, let me go and check... well, I'm not sure, it just says 'traditional gi" but I can tell you that the top is VERY thick, especially the upper part.

BTW, where did you intend to get your Gi, if it's an online site, I'd like to check it out.

I'm 6'2 and 217 pounds and own an A4 Atama and Vulkan. Before shrinking the jackets several times (about three times through the dryer set on high), I was swimming in fabric. You should be fine with an A3.

As for reliable retailers with good products try:

I just got my Gi a Keiko at jiujitsuprogear, I actually drove down to the place since I live out here in Southern California. I weight about 175 and about 5'11 I bought an A-2. The A-3 was way to big for me but they told me to keep in mind that they do shrink. Should I be ok? I would hate to lose my Gi.

If the A2 fits perfectly, then just remember to cold wash and hang dry! Even then, it'll shrink a little (most gis do). Ideally the A2 is a LITTLE bit loose, but still comfortable, so you have some room for shrinkage.
