JUDO GI vs BJJ GI

I'm 6'0 309lbs and have a size 7 Judo Gi. Im switching over to BJJ and from what I've seen my Judo Gi is several inches longer then the BJJ Gi's. My Judo Gi comes down to almost my knees. Yes I had to by the size 7 for my shoulder size and back size and not my height. How far should a proper fitting BJJ Gi come down? I want to get my current Gi tailored so I dont have to buy a new one. Any suggestions?

BJJ gis have much shorter skirts. I would say it should come to your upper thigh or so. It really is not a big deal. You should be able to roll and even compete in BJJ with a judo gi.
