Thai Gloves v. boxing Gloves

I was wondering if the CSI red Thai Style training gloves would be good for overall training, boxing, MT, and MMA ? Or if it would be better to buy something like a Faritex, or Rival, or Everlast boxing gloe ?

I would think it would be fine, the major difference on a muay thai glove is the thumb so you can use it to clinch better.

I personally like them over reg. boxing gloves because of that...plus it's sometimes a conversation starter.

I'd go with the thai gloves because the postitioning of the thumb is better for clinching but either will work...more of a preference thing

I think they work fine for straight boxing and I think a decent pair of gloves will last quite a while even if you're using them for both bag work and sparring

Yes, CSI makes a nice training glove. As does Ringside and some at Title and of course Fairtex.

I'm pretttttty sure the Ringside "Universal training" gloves (I have them) are the EXACT same thing as the CSI "Thai-style" training gloves....don't quote me on that, but....have a look-see...

CSI's "Thai-style"

Ringside's "Universal"

Either way, I use the Ringside ones for Muay Thai and they work great...everybody always compliments me on them too (not sure why...I mean, they're just gloves...)...
