Icon2 jockstrap, flex cup

for kickboxing, i've never worn a jockstrap/cup before but after seeing numerous people get kicked in the balls i'm thinking i should invest in some should it ever happen to me. i've always just worn compression shorts (under armour)...my question is can i just buy a cup like this one (http://www.shockdoc.com/coreProtective/FlexCups.html) and put it in my compression shorts? would that work at all or would i have to buy a supporter/strap like this http://www.shockdoc.com/coreProtecti...Supporter.html.

any good brands of cups/straps that would be used for kickboxing? (and grappling perhaps).

A lot of people use two layers of compression shorts with the cup in between, some people use the ShockDoctor Basix compression shorts/cup combo. This is what I was doing until I got hit in the nuts last night and the cup pinched my nut sack (the cup sorta "floats" when using the ShockDoctor shorts) and I'm still having some discomfort.

So... I'm looking for something different... if I can figure out how the strings on my Windy Steel cup are supposed to tie I might try doing the traditional thing.
