Is this/How's this as a Rashguard

I saw at the Sports Authority in the baseball section one of these here, the Easton Power Surge. It's 20 spandex/80 lycra, with a white body and colored sleeves and side panels.

Sports Authority - Easton Power Surge Long Sleeve Compression Mens

It looks to be long cut, but has no drawstring. As a more fully figured man, ride up protection is crucial, and even the RGs with drawstrings are usually hemmed to short anyway, which defeats the purpose.

Has anyone had any experience with these in grappling? As a plus, they come in pink with black stitching, which would be the one I get if I did take the plunge on this.

I don't think those are thick and durable enough for grappling.

However when I travelled, before I had a chance to buy a RG, I wore Canterbury of NZ underarmour for like 2 sessions before I found a rashy I liked so I don't see why those wouldn't work, but don't expect them to last.

On a tangent side note, I watched a tourney once where a whole bunch of guys wore Nike underarmour. Those retail for like $100 here. Pretty much all of them tore in their first fights. No gi tourney. All I said was "It's no gi, those things shouldn't be getting ripped"

I've used a quicksilver (surfing company) rashguard that I got for 12 bucks from whiskey miltitia over a year ago. Yes it might not be as heavy as some grappling specific rashies, but it was cheap, and is still going strong. That easton one should work just fine.
