I own the cheapest freaking HCK you can buy...standard single, unbleached...best kimono EVER...it's super tough and fantastic quality...I haven't trained BJJ much this past semester, but people complimented me on it all the time when I trained regularly and were freaked out when I told them it was literally half of what they paid (like $60.00 with shipping)...
For a beginner, I'd highly recommend it...it's a bit "rough", but honestly, it's marginal and you get used to it...it's also a bit heavy, but meh...I live in, FL...I'm used to the heat...and you're gonna sweat in competition and training regardless, so what's a bit more sweat...
Overall...I honestly believe, dollar for dollar, it's the best kimono you can buy...
I'd get it either directly from Howard himself at
www.howardliu.com (he'll call you and speak with you to assure correct sizing and to give care tips...talk about customer service!) or
www.jiujitsuprogear.com (quick and cheap shipping)...
Best of luck...
