I've worn the same Truth Fightwear shorts once a week in Muay Thai and Cagewalks once a week in Muay Thai for literally like...a year and a half now...and they're both perfectly fine...I wash them immediately after use on cold/regular cycle and dry on medium...

I've worn the same Top Contender shin pads twice a week every week for the same amount of time...thusfar, the only wear/tear I have on them is just the "seam" between the instep pad and the actual shin pad; and at that, it's the stitching that's coming apart, no actual "tears"...no tears and no overuse creases at all on the actual synthetic leather/padding...

I've worn the same Everlast blue boxing gloves as bag gloves for about 6 months now...twice a week of training...prior to that I used them as both bag and training gloves...there's a bit of wear/tear, but that's expected for gloves I've used regularly for 1.5 years...

I've used my Ringside "Universal Training" gloves now consistently twice a week for training/sparring since Christmas (best present ever)...minimal wear/tear...

It's just a matter of learning how to care for your gear...just tossing it into a bag and leaving it all there isn't the best way to help it last as long as it can...I run my shin pads under cold running water when they get REALLY gross with sweat and stuff...I make sure to air my gloves out after each use...I'll occasionally wipe them down with just a damp rag when I feel there's too much sweat and crap on them...I also make sure to just wash my clothes in cold and dry on medium; as washing in warm or hot and drying on high will decrease the lifespan of the fabric...

A bit more effort than just throwing it all into a bag and leaving it in the trunk of my car or something...but it's worth it to invest a little time in caring for your equipment..

Rashguards get pummelled. Hand wash them and keep them away from velcro. Velcro kills rashies

my rashguard is probably the only thing I've ever had to replace. some of my sprawls from last year are starting to wear down though too, but yeah my rashys seem to be a problem. Probably cause they get alot of use each day.

My #1 tip for keeping gloves nice; when you're not using them put rolled up newspaper in them. It will kee the funk away and absorbs the sweat like crazy. Also having a few pair of everything to share the punishment doesn't hurt either.

Maybe you just got some crappy shorts. Contact the company and see what they have to say about it.

I'd like to know how long gi's last in general too. I've had 2 atama's so far and they first one tore with about 1 1/2 years training, and the same thing is now happening to my second!

Also I'll be moving to somewhere hot in the summer - I hope I can find a summer gi that lasts!

That's great, that's why it never hurts to ask, If a company really stands behind their products, they'll usually take good care of the customers.

I didn't knew that! I'll consider it since I'm buying a rashguard soon. Great useful information. Thanks!
