how to CLEAN????

I was wondering what you guys do to clean your gloves and equipment. im mainly concerned with the outside leather of my gloves that have blood and other peoples sweat on in. I was thinking about keeping a sprayer with a 1:10 mixture of bleach:water. would this hurt the leather?

interesting question. I'll have to start looking at this too as my gloves get dirtier...

inside the gloves, just use a glovedog to keep it fresh.

On the out side use a leather cond/cleaner that you can get for a leather sofa and it will keep the leather soft and clean.

How well do the glovedog's work? I was thinking about getting some but wasn't sure if they would be worth it.

They work really well but you can just buy cedar chips and put them in a pair of tube socks and they will work just as well.

check with your local hockey rink many of them have franchises that clean hockey equipment including leather hockey gloves i would think that the process would work well on any leather glove

I use Meguiars leather wipes (in the auto care department) for the leather bits. I use cedar chip sachets on the inside after letting the gloves sit open a short while (i.e.-- I don't jam them in there immediately). I occasionally hose them down with lysol or febreeze antimicrobial spray to make sure mushrooms aren't growing inside.

I'm about ready to try that whole cedar chips in the tube sock idea, just because the tube sock would probably be more absorbant than the sachets I've been using.

I just bought some glove dogs. How long are the glove dogs good for before I have to replace the cedar chips inside or just buy new glove dogs?
