help! Shin pads and gloves: SSF or KO fightgear??

I've read reviews on both of these and read nothing but good things about them, but I haven't read anything comparing the two.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had experiences with both of these? I've read reviews from boxers on here about the KO gloves, but has anyone used the KO gloves in muay thai? The KO gloves are much cheaper, but how are they for clinching?

SSF shin pads ($40):

KO shin pads ($45 - shipping included):

SSF gloves ($65):

KO gloves ($30 - shipping included):

I'm not trying to advertise for either of these companies. I just need some help making up my mind!

Well... SSF shinpads are far better than KO's, especially if you are using them in muay thai.. And why are you comparing the more expensive SSF gloves to some cheap ones? SSF does have cheaper boxing gloves too (around 42$).

I'm just comparing the two gloves because the KO fightgear gloves might not be good for muay thai (clinching), because of the palm and position of the thumb is different on thai gloves. I'm wondering if anyone has used the KO's in muay thai?

They're my first gloves (KOs) I've used for Muay Thai but there are different ways to clinch, so the thumb doesn't make much difference for me.
