Help with Back Support for BJJ training

Hi everyone! i kinda messed up my lower back in my BJJ class and i've missed about a week to let it heal. i've been wearing my lifting belt to work and around my apartment to help. my back is getting better, (thankfully), and i would like to go back to training, but i want to wear some kind of back support belt. can anyone please recommend something for me and where i can buy it?

Thanks again for the help!

Once your back is better (don't push it, wait as long as you need), start doing some low-weight lifts focusing on your back (deadlifts, goodmornings, etc). It seems like a lot of BJJ injuries (apart from muscle tears and such from submissions) are due to lack of strength in various areas, since you're utilizing parts of your body that are severely underused.

I had a condition called patellofemoral syndrome that caused me pretty severe knee pain. I started doing weightless squats in the morning (just a set of ten) and the pain went away almost immediately.

those belts dont help at all. i have been wrestling on the highest levels for about 11 years now, and have had tons of back probs. the belts dont do shit. the mod was being a smart ass, but chiroprators work miracles. i never had to pay for one visit, i got it all free, so my opinions on them are pretty unbiased. they work

If you're going to go to a chiropractor make sure they aren't one of the loony ones that works on babies and thinks that back adjustments can cure cancer and bed wetting.

my chiro practer is a big UFC fan, i wore an old randy/hck shirt from back in 03, and he immediately picked up on it. He's awesome, we talk about the fights all the time, and he knows how to deal with stress points from rolling and thai.

just talk to the guy. chiros do alot of free work for people. usually when you do it for free, it doesnt hurt them at all. you drop in, wait till he has a free moment, and it usually takes like 3 minutes.

I was a college goalkeeper and tall so my lower back has been wrecked many times, probably much like Dirty Holt. One interesting thing that my physio said to me once was that lower back pain is almost never related to the lower back. It is almost always hamstrings or upper back , etc. throwing things out of balance. I have a pilates video for the back health, and it has worked well for myself and for some other folks I have shared it with. I know there are many videos like "Back Into Shape" that are quick easy workouts that can help maintain some peace in your back over the long-term.
