Gear & Equipment Discussion Did I mention that the gear you use is cheap and flimsy?

Hayabusa Rashguard and Shorts Sizing Question

This is the first time that I'm going to be purchasing a rashguard or grappling shorts for that matter. In the past I was so broke that I just wore plain white cotton tshirts and plain shorts the few times that my old gym did no gi BJJ.

I've made the decision to go with the Hayabusa rashguard. I've looked at tons of reviews and everyone that has them seems to love them. My only question is about the sizing. I'm going to be getting the long sleeve version of the rashguard and I normally wear a large tshirt. Is that what I should base it off of, or should I go a size down?

Are the Hayabusa shorts accurate on the waist size? I'm 6'2" and weigh around the 195 mark. I normally wear a 34 in the waist. I just don't want to throw out the money, and then have to waste time sending stuff back and wait for the new gear to arrive because the size isn't accurate.

Thanks for the help.

Hi mate, I have both large and medium in the rashguard. I am 6"2" 180lbs and i would say a skinny build.

On both the large and medium the arms fit very well however for me i prefer the fit of the medium as the body fits bit more snug. What sort of build are you?

Also I have a pair of the hayabusa shorts they fit pretty true to size i where 32" in shorts for training and the 32" hayabusa's fit great

I would have to say that I'm just an average build. If I had to pick a fighter that my body type resembles, I would have to pick Dan Henderson. I know that doesn't help, but you mentioning your weight brought up the thought that I've been 192 lbs just with diet, that's no weight training or any of that. When that starts back up, I'll drop to around 185lbs while putting on muscle. So Medium might be about right. It might not be that flattering at first, but after I drop weight it'll get better.

Yeah I would go with medium. Keep in mind that after a bit of use and washes they kind of loose the tight feel and fit perfectly.

I have had mine for about a year now and it is still going strong.

I'm 5'7 and weight 156. I wear medium t-shirts and ordered a long-sleeve Hayabusa rashguard in medium. Fits perfectly.

I own the shorts and they fit true to size. But there is also elastic in part of the waistband and a good drawstring closure system so you can adjust it in case your weight fluctuates. Even though they fit perfectly in the waist, hips, and groin . . . I wish they were a tad longer as the short's legs fall just above the knee.
