Gloves keep ripping on bag wtf?
When I was a kid I used to have a different kind of heavy bag. Now in the basement we just hung a kindof fabric sort of material whereas the material before was a sort of leather-like material (not real leather). When I landed hooks they would kindof catch the bag whereas now my punches just slide off. I have the real deal boxing gloves and I also have gloves (18 oz I believe) and I also have these type of gloves I only bought because they were "bag gloves". Even with wraps (maybe I'm just not that great and doing the wraps?) it is not enough and my hand tends to get cut and the padding just shifts to one side of the glove. My 18 oz gloves just ripped open and the "BAG GLOVES" have white marks on them and the limited padding it has switched to the parts of my fist that the gloves typically don't impact with the bag. Does anyone know if this type of bag is just shit or am I using the wrong kind of gloves?

one of my last pair of bag gloves was just really old when I bought them, the foam may have gotten wet or something but it was totally deteriorated inside and like dust, the were moving around before i opended them, bag gloves shouldn't do that. if your bag is really coarse that would cause some scafing. Most bags these days are made out of a composite of vinyle and canvas. Sounds like you have a canvas bag. Leather bags are the best, but of course they are expensive.

The everlast gloves you showed the picture of are probably terrible for hitting a heavy bag, especially if it is a thick, heavy bag with a lot of weight. Punching that with wraps and those gloves will not offer much protection even if you have a professional cutman wrapping your hands. Even though they say they are "bag gloves" I would only recommend using them on a speed bag or double-end bag, because a heavy bag will just chew your hands up. For good gloves that actually offer legitimate protection when working the heavy bag regardless of the kind of bag you own, and can also be used in sparring, check out ringside. They have really good gloves under a section called "training gloves" that are easy to use because of the elastic cuff, and come in sizes up to 18oz. I have had the same pair for four years, and have used them for both sparring and bag work. I've used them for months at a time everyday, and never had a problem, so you might want to check those out. As for the bag, it might just take some time to wear in. Make sure you don't work the bag unevenly though, or else you could end up hurting your hands if you catch a punch wrong.

Those bags gloves are terrible. Get a real pair of training gloves.
Are your "real deal" boxing gloves made of vinyl and filled with cotton?

Yea but I think it has to do with the material the bag is made out of. I've never seen one that isn't some kindof leather ish material and only this course as mozfonky calls it "canvas bag". Ahh I just googled "canvas heavy bag" and got this.

What good is a canvas bag for if it does such a number on gloves?

Canvas is canvas. I punched canvas bags for ten years and never had my good quality leather gloves rip.
Do your boxing gloves look anything like this:
Or are they they well put together and made with good materials like this:

get some leather bag gloves and your issues will be solved, unless your bag is made of sandpaper. I've given away good bag gloves, would give you some if i could. get some online or call around, they aren't that expensive but i'll never forget what it was like never having money to buy anything.
