Starsguards

After about 4 months of use, my starsguard is falling apart, yes falling apart. The clear layer is detaching on the left side and moving to the front. I have tried to contact Jeff about this and have heard nothing back. While the guard was good while it lasted, I expect more than a 4 month life span. I am now using my python guard full time and will only recommend him to everyone now instead of both companies. Although Jeff was very helpful during the ordering process I am not getting the same level of customer service (none really). And because of this I have a broken guard. I'm not saying your stars will fall apart but I feel it is necessary to let you guys no that it may be possible your is subpar as well in quality.

EDIT

He contacted me and is going to fix it for me or make a new one free of charge

Wow--that sucks. How long ago did you email him?

I've actually been having trouble ordering one from Jeff. I contacted him three weeks ago regarding a guard. He was quick to respond to my first couple emails, but since then it's been taking about a week for him to respond. I also haven't received an impression kit from him yet, which I also requested three weeks ago. I sent him an email last week asking if he sent the kit and still haven't received a response (I sent him another one today).

Not sure what's up--hopefully it's just temporary because I was really wanted to get one of his guards.

Sent the email tuesday.

I talked to scott with python guards to get a new one to replace my stars and should be getting it sometime next week, and i ordered it yesterday. I would go with pythonguards if I was you, I have one already and it is just as good (now better) than my stars

Yeah, I might end up going with Python Guards... What's the gumshield like on the PG vs the SG? That was one of the reasons I was looking at SG.

I just heard from Jeff, He told me to send it in and he will remake or fix it free of charge.

Here are some pictures comparing the two:

Customguards/pythonguards

starsguards

Overall the PG is bigger and less flexible than the SG

The PG looks ugly and bulky imo.

If I were to pick a custom guard it'd be the real customguards (Gladiator) and Starsguard since they look nice

Well that was his first try at 3d fangs. (yes the fangs are actually sticking out). I don't have my other one from him yet but it looks much much better from the picture he showed me.

Yeah the fangs were not his best work. But to really see what Scott is capable of, go on his website he has a gallery of his works and they look really nice
That's why he's making me one

The 3d is a pain in ass I can personally say and your right it's definitely not my best work by far. Protech had it down with the 3d which is definitely an art. I am reworking the 3d right now and hopefully as much time as I'm spending on it, it will turn out great but again it takes a long time and patience because there is nothing straight forward about the guard. Bowles will post the pics when he gets it back.

To clarify with delamination, it happens from time to time it's just if there are more cases of this it boils down to manufacturing. I have had 1 delaminate and I am fixing it right now but this shouldn't ever be a problem again. Jeff is really busy making guards thanks to you guys but your customer service has to stay on the spot no matter how busy you get.
