Freestanding Heavy Bags - Any Good???

http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/pr...hId=5660929901

I live in a townhouse and don't have room for a hanging heavy bag at home. Are the free-standing bags worth it? And if they are does anyone recomend a specific brand or model?

Thanks for any advice..

If you have carpet, do not get the wavemaster.

I second the vote for the ringside king cobra with thai attachment.

I would'nt reccomend one they move around too much when you hit them, but you could always come up with some alternative means to fasten it.

If you want a Wavemaster http://www.centuryfitness.com/webapp...18&crumb=13501, I would suggest the XXL size.

It will still move around some, but won't be as easy to knock over.

We use these at the studio where I train, and the smaller ones get kicked over all the time. XXL's will go over as well, but not nearly as often.

I am not all that big (~170 lb.), and both sizes tend to walk, especially with kicks.

I used to have the same freestanding, if your gonna use it make sure you fill it with sand, not water. It will start to move and ma ke alots of noise if you put water

and

that seems to be what is recomended but that is a heck of an investment... im thinkin maybe i just sacrifice putting my car in the garage and get a hanging bag in there...

But it is annoying how it keeps bouncing, unlike the hanging ones
