A few questions about Gloves

I know there was just a thread about Bag Gloves to Training Gloves, but I have some other questions that I couldn't find answers to after doing some searching.

Right now, I am leaning towards getting some Twins Special gloves. I know that 14-16 oz is usually recommended, but is there a significant difference in those 2 ounces? Are 12 oz gloves okay for heavy bag work? or is this dangerous (even with wraps of course)?

Another thing is, I can't find a hand size chart anywhere for these gloves, is it a one-size-fits-all?

If I plan on only doing bag work for a while, and then just occasional sparring, should I get the bag glove instead of the training glove? (I know not to use the bag gloves for sparring, I'll just have to borrow or find trainging gloves when the time comes) But my question is, would it make sense to get the trainging gloves if I will be doing almost only bag work, atleast for now? Will that wear the traing gloves down faster?

Any advice is appreciated. Oh yeah, I'd probably buy them from muaythaistuff.com, is this recommended?

More ounce is heavier. Heavier is harder upon impact on your opponent, more padding but more weight to it usually. Anything above 16 = painful for your friend.

Meh, most people will fit into a normal sized glove. go try one at the store then decide what u need

why not use the bag glove for sparring to? in general with thai/boxing gloves there isnt a hell of a lot of difference.

Wearing the gloves down will take years, don't stress.

Muaythaistuff is well recognised yes.

and where in aus?

Okay, so the traing gloves will fit in its normal size, but what if I decide to get the bag gloves instead (those come in M or L). The only thing I have to go off of is trying on Century gloves at a local sporting goods store, with those the L fits better than the M. Do you know if sizes are similar across brands?

So you are suggesting the Bag gloves over the training gloves?

Oh I'm from the US, not Aus, I wish I could say I was from Aus, haha. What made you think that?

I guess he derives Aus from OZ. I would say go ahead and get the training glove. they're a bit more pricey, but well worth it. since you said you'll do some occasional sparring, do your partner a favor and grab the training glove. his face will thank you.

For the love of god...get the training gloves if you intend to do ANY type of partner training or sparring...

If somebody tried to spar me with bag gloves I'd pull the old Reggie Warren Jr.....

For straight sparring with another person make sure you have *TRAINING* Gloves. That's what I have learned so far.
