Everlast boxing glove inconsistency

Has anyone else found everlast gloves to be very inconsistent?

Here is the story: I got some blue 12 pro-style training gloves as a gift. They fit perfect, then I wanted red ones instead. I know, this sounds stupid but I wanted red ones. So I exchanged them for the SAME EXACT gloves, except they were red. I did not try them on in the store like I should have.

I got home, put them on, and on the inside of the left glove there was like this hard rubber strip that was bothering me. On the right glove, there was no rubber thing but a flap of the inside material stopping me from putting my fingers all the way into the glove.

The blue pair I had was perfect. So I exchanged them again, and tried the new pair on in the store, which felt perfect. After I finished hitting my heavy bag(listening to Bas' boxing workout lol), my fingertips on my right hand were hurting, and also on my left, but not as bad.

Are these gloves ususally inconsistent? Or is this just a series of bad luck that I've had?

no, you're just hitting your bag way to hard with 12 oz. gloves... use 16 oz. gloves if you want to go full bore... i learned this the hard way by going 5 rounds with 4oz. gloves on vs. a heavy bag

I have used SSF's shooto gloves to hit my bag and never had a problem, but that is probably because they have an open palm.

shooto gloves are WAYYYY different from mma gloves... the shooto gloves have a ridiculous amount of padding on the 'front' of the fist.... also, the open palm can be more detrimental because you will, like I did, crush your fingers in your fist from hitting too damn hard.

My fingertips are hurting from the boxing gloves, not the shooto gloves
