Difference between fight gloves and training gloves.

Well i've just received a new pair of gloves, 16 oz BBE fight gloves..I intend to use them for sparring and training, but i have noticed the padding is quite hard.

So is there a difference between fight gloves and training gloves?..I'm guessing the gloves that you use for sparring should have soft padding to make it more comfortable for your sparring partner.
I had to wait about 10 days for these gloves and no way do i want to send them back, my sparring partner is just gonna have to take it.

So what gloves do you use for sparring?

If the padding is hard that is normal. I have 2 pairs of Rons thai boxing gloves and the glove feels hard like your describing. But they have softened alittle and they are hard b/c they are designed to displace impact, I don't know of any nice really soft gloves. I think your alright.

I spent 30 mins today using them on the bag, they are still real hard.

lol.i spent 5 mins sparring at the end of class and my partner made a comment on how hard i was hitting, since it was meant to be light sparring.

I suppose i'll just have to break them in a bit on the heavybag.

Heavy bag work I think will give you the best idea of how they are going to feel after some good training sessions. It just might be the glove, that would suck but that might be the case.

It has alot to do with the company too.
I dont know much about BBE. But maybe they use cheap padding.
I have some crap TKO's and the padding is almost too soft, the glove itself is shit... flimsy and falling apart. The apdding in where the fingers go is mushed so i have to fight to make holes for my fingers.. Junk!!! stay away from these.
I also have some SPORTONE's that are a local company and are real nice. Not too hard and not too soft. Farely cheap aswell.
At my gym we have EVERLAST training gloves and they are real good, but they are a well known boxing co. and i wouldnt expect anything less.

I think it all depends how much $$ you spend for the quality of padding.
