I ordered a WAR blue belt from BFW and it didn't take too long to get here. I specified in the paypal notes that I wanted the dark blue version, but they sent me a light blue belt. Oh well, its still a badass belt.

I'm still a white belt, but I should get my blue soon as long as I keep training hard. I really thought the shipping would take longer. I was impressed on how fast i got it.

I know this thread is a little old but I just ordered the darker blue version, I'll post a pic when I get it.

Sort of interesting to see this thread pop back up.

I like the idea the guy bought his own belt and gave it to his instructor until he earned it. I wanted to do the same thing, but lacked the balls.

When I got my blue in June, I had to take the belt they had on hand (a dark blue Sirius,) when what I would have preferred is any light blue belt - or specifically a light blue War.

In the end, I just stuck with it because it's the one I was given (though at first they just peeled one off an other blue to tie on me,) and because I feel like more part of the team with it (5 other guys were awarded blue shortly after I got mine.)

Maybe I'll buy a War ahead of time for my purple, but that's a loooooong way off.

I work nights so I go to morning classes. Morning classes are smaller so I know my instructor really well. Also, I gave it to him waaaaaaaay before I was even close to earning it. My exact words were, "If I ever earn a blue belt, can I have this one?" He said sure and went and put it in his office somewhere.

Nope, I probably won't for another year. I've only been a blue since July so purple doesn't even seem remotely attainable yet.

My instructor just told me the other day that I have to work on my combinations. He said that I have great technique but when I come in with just one move and it fails that I'm done. I also have to work on baiting people into submissions and thinking 2-3 moves ahead.

I'm having a tough time doing these things while rolling live.
