Yeap, it's a dual arch but you can also do a modified dual arch which extends below the central portion of the anterior (front teeth) (it goes about half way down the front side of the bottom teeth or all of the way to the gingival/pulpus area (start of the gum line) but you place an air hole/breathing hole in the center of the guard just below the top teeth. I have done this for folks that are wearing upper dentures but still need a guard but don't really have anything to lock their upper jaw in place with i.e. teeth. It is a little different doing the modified but it's used for primarily individuals that enjoy dual but don't want to pay the price or guys that have upper and lower braces. For wrestling it gives the appearance of a dual arch but not the restriction in breathing. You still need an upper tray, lower tray and a bite plane/registration for articulation alignment. Sorry if I'm using words that your not used too but I really don't know how to explain it any different and hopefully I have broken it down enough in laymen's terms. Call me if you have any questions because I know someone on here is just dying to critique something I just said and I'm personally tired of flaming and personal/business attacks on Sherdog.

^No no prob at all, I really appreciate you taking the time to break it down to me as much as you did. I like having as much information as possible when making big investments, and your post helped me a great deal.

Not a problem Mets, everyone here knows or should know by now that I'm willing to help anyone out whether they purchase from me or not. Also make a note and I should have mentioned this prior: I do not do dual arch guards unless the impressions come from a dentist and the reason being it is way too easy to screw it up when you try to complete your own bite registration and your doing multiple impressions. The biggest issue is that you will not get a good, comfortable guard if your bite is not taken correctly because of the jaw alignment issue. Upper's that are modified are easy and frankly the biggest difference is the time consumption involved because your building up the bottom front of the guard to extend over the incisal edge (cutting portion of the front teeth) of the bottom teeth. I personally think the modified is the way to go unless you just have a major preference for dual arch, it does add protection to the lower teeth even if your mouth is open and you can also add some awesome graphics because you have a large area to work with. I just wanted to clarify and apologize if I lead you a stray on the previous comment but one thing I don't want is for you to get a dual guard from a company that doesn't really know what their doing and you be dissatisfied, out of money and most importantly screw up your jaw alignment. If by chance your in the Colorado or Phoenix area let me know and I will be gladly to hook you up with a some dentist that I work with and for. If your in the San Diego, California area Ryan with Guardyagrill is definitely a sure fire way to go, he's the one who has taught me multitudes of knowledge about guards and various types of manufacturing methods that are solid. If you look at his guards you will understand what I'm talking about.
If I have questions about something I personally call him for the answer. Take care.

I hope this is the best placeto post this, but just wanted to give Scott from CustomGuards/PythonGuards his props. He must be very diligent and organized because like the other reviews I read, Scott had very little turnover time to getting me my guard. I screwed up the first impression and he got me a new kit right away and was very patient with me. Also, I suck with computers and he helped me get my logo just right. Most importantly my guard fits perfectly (semi-pro for straight bjj), looks cool, and is comfortable. Thanks Scott!
